What has happened to HI5?

Every time i read articles about social networking websites, they always talk about Bebo,Myspace and Facebook only. I am thinking that HI5 is not popular anymore and it is going to shutdown.

What has happened to HI5?
I didn't know HI5 was ever all that popular. Sometimes things seem more popular than they really are, because there is a pocket of people using them. Say, in a small town, most of the town might use a certain one, and it seems like *everyone* is on it.


There are a bunch of them, like HI5 (WAYN was another one) that I kept getting invites for, or seeing in banner ads. I signed up for quite a few, but didn't generally go back to them much. Some take off, some don't, I guess.


Facebook was like that, for me. When I first signed up for facebook, I never guessed that it would gain the popularity it did. At that time, it was restricted to college and university students - you couldn't sign up without using a registered educational facility email address. At the time, there were only schools in the US listed, and not very many either. I had to register my college, and it took a few days for it to show up on there.


I never expected it to become popular - it was very limited, and the interface is (and still was) rather poor, in my opinion. Oh well. You never know what will make it, I guess.
